Liesbet Marivoet
I caught the bagpipe bug during a
traditional folk music course in Gooik,
Flanders. What started there quickly grew into
a lasting passion, leading me to attend
workshops regularly, both in Belgium and
abroad. For the past nine years, I have been
teaching bagpipes to players of all ages at
the music academy of Schoten, and more
recently also at the academy of Sint-Niklaas
in Flanders. My own musical curiosity and
creative challenge continue to find a home in
Griff Trio.

The main goal of this workshop is
simple: to enjoy making music together on this
beautiful instrument.
We’ll learn melodies by ear (no worries -
sheet music will be available) and explore
technique and add ornamentation along the way.
We will mainly play as a group but there’s
space for attention to individual needs and
level skills.
We’ll play bagpipes in G but if you have
instruments in D or C you can bring them along.
